| RMFP: | Wie bist Du zur Schauspielerei gekommen? Wolltest Du das schon | |
| immer werden? | ||
| Rudolf: | ja, ich habe schon ziemlich früh daran gedacht, so von 17-19, aber mich | |
| nie getraut mich überhaupt für eine schauspielschule zu bewerben, wäre auch | ||
| nie reingekommen. mich haben schon immer theater und literatur interessiert, | ||
| also
das geschichten erzählen. |

| dann ein paar jahre später habe ich in new york über 'method acting' gelesen | ||
| und bin zur lee strasberg schule gegangen und wusste sehr schnell, dass ich | ||
| nicht aufgeben kann | ||
| RMFP: | Du hast bisher überwiegend in Amerika gedreht, werden wir Dich zukünftig | |
| auch mal vermehrt in europäischen bzw. deutschen Produktionen sehen können? | ||
| Rudolf: | ich hoffe schon, ist aber nicht einfach für mich in deutschland rollen zu bekommen | |
| weil mich die meisten leute da nicht kennen und ich nicht vor ort bin. habe erst seit | ||
| 'lautlos' eine agentin in berlin und wir versuchens. ich würde sehr gerne öfter in | ||
| deutschland oder europa arbeiten, vermisse es manchmal. | ||
| RMFP: | Du spielst überwiegend Rollen als Bad Boy, also Mörder, Terroristen, Kriminelle | |
| etc. Absicht oder einfach nur Zufall? Wann sehen wir Dich mal wieder als „Guten“? | ||
| Was spielst Du persönlich lieber? | ||
| Rudolf:: | das hat sich irgendwann so ergeben, besonders in fernsehserien hier in amerika, | |
| macht mir auch oft spass, wenns gut geschrieben ist und solange ich etwas neues | ||
| in einer rolle entdecken kann. aber man kann sich die rollen meistens nicht | ||
| aussuchen, man kann nur das beste daraus machen. ich versuche die 'bösen' mit | ||
| ein paar "guten" zügen auszustatten. aber am ende sind 'gut' und 'böse' nur | ||
| moralische urteile, die man als schauspieler gerne vermeidet. ich gehe eher | ||
| instinktiv an sowas ran und versuche zu spielen, was mir am meisten spass | ||
| macht, und hoffe dann, dass es den zuschauern dann auch so geht. | ||
| RMFP: | Welches Deiner bisherigen Rollen war Deine persönliche Lieblingsrolle? | |
| Rudolf: | habe eigentlich keine, mir haben viele spass gemacht. | |
| RMFP: | Gibt es eine Rolle, die Du gerne spielen würdest oder gerne gespielt hättest? | |
| Rudolf: | "peter der grosse" | |
| RMFP: | In Deutschland wirst Du zur Zeit gerade hauptsächlich mit der Rolle des „Ari | |
| Haswari“ identifiziert! Wie siehst Du diese Rolle? | ||
| Rudolf: | 'ari' war ein glücksfall, die ncis leute haben mich für eine andere, kleinere rolle | |
| gesehen aber jemand anderes gecastet, dann ein paar monate später mir 'ari' | ||
| angeboten, sollte erst nur 2 folgen dauern aber er war zu interressant. eine art | ||
| renegade-james bond, der gegen ende etwas durchgedreht ist. ich hätte gerne noch | ||
| etwas weiter gemacht, gibbs gesagt, dass 'kaitlin' ein doppelagent war und ich sie | ||
| umbringen musste, dann mit ihm hätte arbeiten müssen, gegen seinen willen. ncis | ||
| hat viel spass gemacht, die leute waren alle sehr nett und die serie ist hier in | ||
| amerika sehr erfolgreich. | ||
| RMFP: | Wie war die Zusammenarbeit mit Mark Harmon? | |

| hast/lebst: Wo hat es Dir am gefallen und warum. Kannst Du Dir vorstellen, z.B. in | ||
| China zu leben? | ||
| Rudolf: | nein, china kann ich mir nicht vorstellen, nur europa oder hier in amerika, aber | |
| würde gerne noch ein paar andere orte kennenlernen. ich arbeite gerne in fremden | ||
| ländern, aber wenn ich nichts zu tun habe weiss ich oft nicht, was ich da soll, ich | ||
| bin kein guter tourist. | ||
| RMFP: | Was
machst Du gerne in Deiner Freizeit? Welche Musik hörst Du gerne? |

| Rudolf:: | lesen, rennen, nach neuen projekten suchen, gute literatur, interessante filme, | |

| Rudolf:: | nein, kein geheimnis mehr, comet ist nicht mehr incognito, er ist immer mit mir | |
| dabei, kommt oft mit mir zum drehen, ist 7 jahre alt und wird langsam grau. wir | ||

two new projects are “Two Nights” (a short film, which is now
in postproduction and will be shown at many festivals in 2007) and Rudolf
said this role is one of his best. |

| The second one is an episode of “Stargate SG-1”, which is now being shot in Vancouver, and is Rudolf’s third outer space role (the other one was in “Sliders” and “Enterprise”) And of course, finishing touches are being done to the movie “Anomie”. | ||

| We asked him, how he became an actor and if he always wanted to be an actor. | ||
| He
was interested in acting at an early age, around 17- 19 years old. At first,
he was afraid to apply to an actors school because he didn’t think
he had a chance. He was always interested in theater, literature, and telling
stories. A few years later, in New York, he read about “method acting” and was going to the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. He quickly realized he couldn’t give up acting. |

| We would like to know if the German fans will frequently see Rudolf in European or German film productions in the future, because at the moment most of his roles are played in American films. | ||
| He hopes to play in more European films, but it’s not so easy for him to get roles in Germany because many people don’t know him there (Oh, we hope we can change this!). He is also currently living in America and not Germany, but since the movie “Soundless” (Lautlos) he does work with a German agency in an attempt to find more roles. | ||
| The next question was about his roles; most of the time he played bad boys (murderers, terrorists, criminals and so on). We wanted to know if this is intentional or just by chance, and when we will see him in a role as a “good boy” again. And of course, which part he likes to play more. | ||
| He said it just happened that way, especially in American TV series. He likes to play the roles, when they are well written and he can try new things. Most of the time an actor cannot choose his roles. He can only make the best of it and try to give the bad one a few “good characteristics”. In the end, good and bad are just moral judgements, and every actor wants to avoid this. He tries to play the parts which he enjoys the most and he hopes the viewer will enjoy it too. | ||

About his favorite role he said,
he doesn’t have one, because there were so many that he enjoyed,
but he would like to play “Peter the Great”.

| In Germany Rudolf is mostly known for his role “Ari Haswari” in the series Navy CIS. | ||
|
Rudolf said, this role was a lucky
break. At first he was going to have a smaller role, but then the opportunity
came to play the part of “Ari”. At first it was only suppose
to be for two series, but Ari was too interesting. He was like a Renegade-James
Bond, and in the end a little bit crazy. Rudolf would have liked to play
this role longer, and there was the idea to say to “Gibbs”
that “Caitlin was a double agent and Ari had to kill her, and than
against his will work with Gibbs. |

About the work with Mark Harmon he said, Mark is working very hard, all the cast and crew are working very hard all the time, day and night. They are all very friendly and he is very happy that Mark is so successful. |
||
Because Rudolf is a “global player” (he lived in France, Germany, Italy, New York and now in LA) we wanted to know which place is his favorite and why. We also asked if he would like to life in another countries, for example China. |
||
| He said, Europe or America are good places to live, but he couldn’t imagine life in China. He would like to get to know a few other places, because he really enjoys working in foreign countries. | ||
| In his spare time Rudolf likes reading, writing, running, searching for new projects, good literature, interesting movies (more interesting in contents as in style), a lot of music…. | ||
| The last question was about the little black dog we often see with Rudolf in pictures. It’s not top secret and the dog is not incognito, it is a Chihuahua named Comet, 7 years old and now Comet is starting to turn a little bit “grey”. Rudolf spent a lot of time with his dog, and often he is on the set with him. | ||
